Project summary
The TRANSFoodMERS project aims to enhance the awareness, knowledge, skills, and competences of youth regarding climate change, with a particular emphasis on sustainable food consumption and production. Through the utilization of Game-based Learning (GBL) processes and methodologies, including outdoor games, online serious games, and board games, youth workers will empower young people to address environmental challenges effectively.
GBL offers unique advantages such as increased motivation, heightened interest in specific topics, and a more open-ended approach to learning, fostering a deeper understanding of complex issues like sustainable food systems. The project’s activities include conducting field research and developing an e-book to measure attitudes and knowledge levels of youth and youth workers, creating guides and games to promote sustainable food consumption and production, and providing training sessions for both youth workers and young people utilizing TRANSFoodMERS GBL resources. Additionally, dissemination, communication, evaluation, and impact measurement activities are integral to ensuring the project’s success and widespread adoption of its tools and methodologies.
The impact of the TRANSFoodMERS project extends beyond individual skill-building to encompass broader goals of empowering young people to become agents of change in their communities and beyond. By equipping youth with innovative tools and resources for understanding and addressing climate change through sustainable food practices, the project aims to contribute to the EU’s efforts in promoting environmental sustainability and achieving its green deal objectives.
