Project summary
DiTRAL is an innovative project that strives for European Union (EU) targets achievement, offer added value, and enrich the sport activities across Europe. The main scope of the project is to find the best combination between sporting and training people with disabilities under the scope of guided training. In this line of approach, DiTRAL will fill a serious gap of limited trainers’ guidance, by offering a specific digital e-guide that can be available for sport trainers of people with special needs. The guide will be shaped both in forms of methodology and of an online framework to be easily accessible and understood.
Wide research regarding the sports and the training techniques that are met in athletes with special needs and investigation on trainers’ awareness about training an athlete with a disability, will be part of the projects’ objectives. The guide will be based on studies about training techniques that should be followed, but also on previous experiences of trainers. The gathered information will be analyzed and evaluated in order to be accurate, safe, easily understood and leading to the desired outcome through the suggested steps following. The final application will be consisting of contents for trainers as an outcome of the research and methodology proposed. That way, trainers will be able to have a guide regarding both the difficulty and the accurate steps that should be followed.
