Project summary

The YouthClimActors project is an ambitious initiative aimed at tackling the climate crisis by fostering youth participation and empowerment. Recognizing the vital role of young people in addressing climate change and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, the project adopts a systemic empowerment work plan focusing on inclusivity and ambition. By addressing structural inequalities and systemic discrimination, particularly through the establishment of Youth Local Climate Councils and various participation events and workshops across Europe.

The project aims to engage youth from diverse backgrounds, including those facing social and economic exclusion. Through these initiatives, policymakers and practitioners seek to create opportunities for meaningful youth participation in democratic and civic life, enhance civic competencies, and build a sense of European identity among young people.

The project’s activities encompass a series of youth participation events and mobility programs held in different European countries. These events provide platforms for dialogue, capacity-building, and policy engagement on climate justice issues. From establishing Youth Local Climate Councils in Greece to conducting workshops on climate change governance in Croatia and advocating for climate justice in Sweden, the project endeavors to amplify youth voices and facilitate cooperation between youth organizations, policymakers, and institutional stakeholders.
