Especially, PYLON ONE gave a greater emphasize on migration issues. Adult education perspective plays a critical role in building the human capital of immigrants who have limited host-country language proficiency, as well as for those who lack a high school diploma or equivalent. For PYLON ONE also has the potential to serve as an on-ramp to postsecondary education and non-formal learning representing a key integration challenge, prior in our organization. As an organization works on developing skills necessary for effective functioning in the community and the workforce, we have organized several local activities, being as well part of cooperative efforts, either in form of European projects, either in form of other funder projects, trying to be harmonized with the necessity to facilitate the integration of services that support three pillars of integrations: linguistic and economic, as well. With this regard, PYLON ONE and its networks have already experience in the field of:

– Linguistic Integration. The ability to communicate in English is critical for immigrants to be able to attain better jobs, advance in their careers, participate more fully in civic life, and become more integral members of the larger community. PYLON ONE started a gradual process organizing on activities focusing on the use of technology to accelerate learning; college and career readiness; learner persistence; and parental engagement and family learning.

Economic Integration. Finding a job that pays a living wage is the top priority for most working-age immigrants. Economic integration occurs when immigrants have the resources to excel and obtain economic self-sufficiency and employers are able to attract and retain the best talent, and when both employers and immigrant workers understand their rights. With this regard, we took local and regional initiatives focused on: career pathways for immigrant English learners with credentials from other countries; closer collaboration with local workforce boards and local employers to secure access to training and jobs for program participants and career planning and job search services.
